TO BE A HUMAN IS...?

Princilpes of Humanity

1.Every single one of us regardless of our race, culture and religion has faith in God but some of us need help to connect and serve God and His children.

2. As a world and as an individual, we all need to learn lessons and values from our past and reflect them in our future, into the world.

3. Maturity comes from experiences and living in this world. To become mature, you have to talk to people and learn about them and all the lessons they have learned.

4. Humans need to be motivated for their choices they are making and how they are responsible of their life.

5. What sets humans apart from animals is our connection with ourselves, and other people and situations around us.

The human vocations shown in media: ARmageddon (1998)

Over the past week, we saw the movie Armegeddon (1998) directed by Michael Bay. The movie had shown many of The Human Vocations, some more than others. Here is the trailer of the movie:

1. Human are called to happiness and holiness

We are truly happy when we are surrouned by people we love than the materialistic things that will go away over time. In the movie, we can see that when Chick went to see his wife and his child before leaving for the misson and not wasting money, partying, gambling, etc.

Now, here is my analysis:

I came here to see you...

GO AWAY!! We don't know you

2. Humans are created in the image and likeness of God

Us humans, unlike animals, are close to God and can ask for help when we are weak and need hope. In the movie, we can see that when Grace is prayng to God for AJ when he is at risk in space and later is pronounced dead. SPOILER: he did not die.

3. Humans are rational and free

I believe that the biggest diffrence between humans and animals is being rational. Humans assess the concequences of their actions and animals are impulsive. In the movie we can see that when Dan Truman, the leader, decides to go against his boss who commanded him to kill Harry with the bomb but Truman decided to do otherwise.

Sir, I can't you kill them without giving them a chance to save themselves and humanity!! >:|

4. Humans are moral beings

The whole team of NASA is very ambitious to launch the guys into space and to train them, safely. They know it's hard to train them in twelve days and explain the plan but they do not give up. Here is the clip of the launch. This shows that humans are hard workers with morals.

5. Humans have passions and feelings

From the begining of the movie, we could see that Grace and her father, Harry didn't have the happiest relationship. They constantly disagreed but before Harry is leaves, they both forgive eachother and move on.

6. Humans are blessed with a conscience

Truman decided to ask for Harry's help to save humanity. Truman knew that Harry and his team were better drillers than the team at NASA. He didn't let his partners made him do otherwise. He had a

conscience and he knew what was

right and what was not. This video shows that Truman is regretting his desicion a little bit.

7. Humans are able to sin

As humans, it's in our nature to sin and ask for forgivness to God with a clean heart. Truman's boss I was reffering to in example number 3, Houston, is the example in this movie that humans are able to sin. He is the one who ordered Truman to let the bomb blow in the space because he thought Harry wouldn't be able to live. This video shows Harry after he has overcome Houston's trap.
